Recipe for an A: **Go to class**, ask questions and do the online WebWork homework (2-3 times a week.) She usually gives an in-class quiz every 2-3 weeks. Tests aren't too bad and are very similar to the review sheets she gives out. She does give some bonus on tests. Overall an effective teacher but has a frustrating personality (see below.) Can be very very picky about solutions and at times arrogant about math in general. Be sure to listen as to the way she wants a solution presented or you will lose points. Unusually paranoid when it comes to cheating (tracks where you sit, time you left and makes you turn hats backwards) and will stop class to scold you if you are a few minutes late. Doesn't respond to emails very well and office hours are scheduled one hour before/after her class which can be an issue if you schedule classes back-to-back. Despite those issues, I would still recommend this teacher. Her lectures are well organized, she speaks clearly and presents the information in an easy to understand manner. I'd say on average, prepare to study 3-4 hours a week for this class. |
